Participants of the V International Conference “The World Majority in New Realities: the Regional Dimension” are discussing issues related to the Global South
On December 1st, the concluding session of the conference titled “The Global South in New Geopolitical Realities” took place. Dr. A.B. Likhacheva, Dean of the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs at HSE University, delivered the Plenary Report titled “The Development Imperative of the Global South in a Multi-Crisis Environment”. She emphasized the significance of trust as a crucial component of collaboration, highlighting that the absence of trust can be attributed to negative experiences or the lack of positive ones. Another issue, as per the speaker's perspective, is that the old system no longer fosters the development of the Global South. To address this, there is a need for a redistribution of networks, the creation of new logistics, standards, hubs, and exchanges. Dr. A.B. Likhacheva underscored that despite the challenges in establishing this new mechanism, there is no alternative since the absence of development poses a threat.
