Ekaterina Kosevich, candidate of political sciences, specialist in Latin America and senior researcher at the International Laboratory for World Order Studies and the New Regionalism at HSE gave an expert commentary to the Vedomosti newspaper on the new economic policy of Argentine President Javier Miley.
On December 1st, the concluding session of the conference titled “The Global South in New Geopolitical Realities” took place. Dr. A.B. Likhacheva, Dean of the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs at HSE University, delivered the Plenary Report titled “The Development Imperative of the Global South in a Multi-Crisis Environment”. She emphasized the significance of trust as a crucial component of collaboration, highlighting that the absence of trust can be attributed to negative experiences or the lack of positive ones. Another issue, as per the speaker's perspective, is that the old system no longer fosters the development of the Global South. To address this, there is a need for a redistribution of networks, the creation of new logistics, standards, hubs, and exchanges. Dr. A.B. Likhacheva underscored that despite the challenges in establishing this new mechanism, there is no alternative since the absence of development poses a threat.
On November 30, on the first day of the V International Conference “World Majority in New Realities: Regional Dimension”, the Section “South Asia: Foreign Policy and Economic Priorities” was held.
From 5 to 9 December, the Faculty of World Economy and World Politics hosted a visit with series of open lectures by Pierre-Emmanuel Thomann, Founding President of Eurocontinent (AISBL), Brussels, Belgium for bachelor students.
