In Moscow, HSE University’s leadership met with a delegation from Peking University headed by its President, Gong Qihuang. During the meeting, the parties agreed to strengthen partnership between the two universities within the framework of the Cross Years of Russian–Chinese Cooperation in Education (2026–2027).

On April 15 and 16, Professor Olga Volosyuk, Academic Supervisor of the School of Regional Studies, presented a paper at the 47th Cervantes Readings. This event is traditionally organized by the Institute of Russian Literature (Pushkin House) of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) and Saint Petersburg State University, with the participation of the RAS Scientific Council on the History of World Culture.

SIRS Professor Contributed to the Edited Volume “Statecraft and Governance in Cyberspace. Strategies, Challenges and Trends”

In late March 2026, an official meeting took place between a delegation from HSE University and delegations from Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU); the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; and the Embassy of Vietnam in the Russian Federation. The participants discussed key areas of cooperation that will help strengthen ties not only between the universities, but also between the two countries.

On 3 February, the School of Regional Studies at the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs of HSE University held a professor’s seminar featuring H.E. Mr Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the Russian Federation.

On December 9, as part of the VII International Conference “The World Majority and the West amid Geoeconomic and Civilizational Transformations”, the section “Southeast Asia: between the Collective West and the World Majority” took place. The section was organized by the School of International Regional Studies (SIRS), Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs. It was moderated by Dr.Sc (History), SIRS Professor Evgeny Kanaev. English was the working language of the section.

The session was organized by the School of Regional Studies of the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs, HSE University.

The session was organized by the School of Regional Studies of the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs, HSE University, in partnership with the Institute of Regional Historic Studies of the Faculty of Humanities, HSE University, and the Institute of Scientific Information for Social Sciences RAS (INION). 

On December 9, 2025, as part of the VII International Conference " The World Majority and the West amid Geoeconomic and Civilizational Transformations", a session entitled "Northeast Asia: Lines of Confrontation and Competition between the West and the World Majority" was held. It was organized by the School of Regional Studies of the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs, HSE University in partnership with the Institute of China and Contemporary Asia of the Russian Academy of Sciences (ICCA RAS).
